All About Universal Shapers Surgical Bur Kit

Achieving oral health demands for lifetime care. Just like other healthcare facilities, dental health is becoming a priority for adults, teenagers, and old people too.

Your dental health depends on good health overall. It allows you to eat, laugh, and speak properly.

Well, for better oral hygiene Universal Shapers has designed a surgical bur kit. It enables clinicians to fix implant receptor positions with some drills and less procedure.

Now let’s have a deep knowledge of this kit. First, start with the components of Universal Shapers’ surgical bur kit. It has mainly four components to explore.

Components

Let’s know more about the components of the surgical bur kit. It consists of:

  • Bullet Shaped Drills
  • Scallop Shaped Drills (SS drills).
  • Cortical Release Drills (SR drills).
  • Auxiliary Drills- It has three drills:

A. Pilot Drill

B. Extension Drill

C. Twist Drill

 Working Of Surgical Bur Kit

The drills can work with an implant system and any handpiece. It needs to be used carefully. Now let’s have a look into the working of the surgical bur kit.

Surgical Bur Kit

  • The top portion of drills shows the (L) length.
  • And the base of the “bullet” part of the drill indicates its diameter (D).
  • The flared part of the drill adds to the L (length) of the osteotomy in 1mm increments. Also, continuing to the diameter in 1mm increments.

 Soft Bone Working

It is highly suggested to undersize your osteotomy when working in the soft bone.

  • For instance, you prep a D5 x L10 osteotomy. You can use a D3.5 x L8.5 drill.
  • Also, the flare adds 2mm to the length.
  • And it adds an additional 2mm to the diameter.

So by this, you can neglect any pressure on the crystal. It helps in creating balance in the cancellous part of the bone.

 Hard Bone Working

It is highly suggested to make a flare by using scallop shapes (SS drills) or bullet drills. It helps to achieve a cortical release ring over the implants, hence neglecting future bone loss and any pressure.

 Cortical Release Drills

These types of drills are used to release the cortical portion of the osteotomy. The best part is you don’t need to alter the density of the cancellous bone.

Specially formed for use with any implant system when further release is required to improve the implant placement.

Cortical Release Drills are used for bone profiling while setting accommodating or healing abutments multi-unit abutments in ALL-ON-X CASES.

 Conclusion

Hopefully, you have got enough knowledge about the surgical bur kit of Universal Shapers.
